The focus of this course unit will be to describe the basic concepts of medical nursing, principles needed for caring adult clients and elderly and the nurse’s role in managing medical conditions. The course unit will include study of disease conditions, identifying patient’s need as health teaching, focusing on health promotion, illness prevention, rehabilitation of patients and care of the family, ethical, social and psychological aspects of nursing care, developing appropriate attitudes towards patients and family members are emphasized.
